Derek Hanks
Co-Director of Camp Operations
Derek Hanks enters
his third year as an assistant for the Cal State Northridge women’s soccer
caching staff.
Derek was a four-year
letter winner at Northridge (2002-06). The two-time captain started 77
matches over his distinguished career and finished seventh in the all-time
ranks after playing in 78 matches. Hanks received All Conference Honors 3
times, Honorable Mention in 04 & 05 and First Team All Big West in 06.
Prior to working at Cal State Northridge, Hanks was a Varsity Assistant at
Calabasas High School in 03-04 and a Varsity Assistant at El Camino Real
High 04-07.
Peter Bomar
Co-Director of Camp Operations
Peter Bomar enters his second year as an assistant for the
Cal State Northridge men’s soccer camp and will be working with the
goalkeepers.
As a player at
Northridge he was a two year letter winner
(06-07). Bomar’s drive on and off the field was a
pivotal part of the teams defense, earning the
respect of the staff and players. He was named captain his final season at
Northridge. He finished his career with a 0.88 goal against average
Keith West
Senior Coach
Keith West is in his fifth season as the head coach of the women’s soccer
team at Northridge. West was
an assistant for seven years on the men’s side at CSUN and began his time
on the women’s side as and assistant in 2004 and 2005. As the teams
defensive coach, West helped the Matadors to earn a trip to the NCAA Men’s
Soccer Tournament in 2002 thanks to a defense that spent most of the season
ranked as one of the nations toughest. In addition to being both a NCAA
Division I player and a professional player, West spent seven years as the
assistant coach for Harvard-Westlake High Schools varsity girls soccer team.
Terry Davila
Senior Coach
Terry Davila is in his tenth season as the Head Coach for the Cal State
Northridge men’s soccer team. Terry will also be coaching the women's
soccer team. Under Terry’s direction, the Matadors completed their most
successful season in school history in 2002. Twice named Los Angeles Times
Coach of the Year (1995 and 1998), Davila was named Big West Coach of the
Year in 2002. Terry served as the Head Coach for the varsity soccer teams
at Reseda High School and this summer he led the West Valley SAMBA girls
youth 16 and under to a United States Youth Soccer Association first place
national title in Maryland. Terry’s enormous experiencing coaching both
boys and girls of all ages makes him a fabulous addition to the Senior
Coaching staff at Northridge Academy.
Yossi Raz
Assistant Coach
Yossi Raz is a new addition to
the coaching staff as a recent graduate of Cal State Northridge. As a
four-year starter for the Matadors, Raz received
All-Big West Conference first-team honors all four years of his career. Yossi has also coached Calabasas and Harvard Westlake
High Schools, along with Maccabi soccer and So.
Cal. United Soccer Club.
Juan Plascencia
Assistant
Coach
Juan Plascencia enters his seventh season as a
member of the Cal State Northridge Soccer coaching staff. He assists in
coaching the goalkeepers as well as helping out with the rest of the team. Plascencia played at Cal State Northridge in 1998 and
1999, and has coached for the West Valley Samba as well as for Viewpoint,
Notre Dame, Harvard Westlake and Louisville High Schools.
